As the rest of the world ponders Cuba’s future and with the American embargo weighing over the little island nation for over the past 55 years, Cubans proceed with their daily lives. This is done by their diligence, perseverance, ingenuity and at most with a sense of humor. An entire generation has grown up in Cuba under Communism. Since the Soviet Union cut the tiny island loose in 1991, Fidel and Raul Castro have painfully tried to keep their control. Although they are deprived of many material possessions, they find pleasure and appreciation within their community and it’s vibrant surroundings. This simple yet positive outlook towards life has made Cubans resilient, resourceful and full of verve.
